    Description

Antique 19th Century Sunderland Luster Lustre Plaque
Sunderland lustre pottery features pink and silver lustre glaze and was produced in the early to mid 1800s in the Wearside potteries around Sunderland.  By 1860, about 20 different potteries produced this type of ware. Some of the known makers include Wearside potteries such as Scott, Newbottle, Moore, and Dixon, and Tyneside and other potteries, such as C., C. & Co, Carr, Maling, and Stockton.
Sunderland lustre is collected for its quirky originality, charming imagery, and colorful designs including shades of pink, purple, silver, gold and copper.
